I was digging through an as-yet-unpacked-box and found a pile of old needlepoint canvases that were never "finished." The stitching is done, but they were never made into anything. Here is my first attempt at beading a needlepoint canvas. It's 18 count with seed beads. Th crane: white is a rayon ribbon (Neon rays?), the gold is a soft braided metallic, and the black perle cotton. The background is also perle cotton, and the gold cloud outline was tacked down with clear beading thread. Sorry about the fuzzyness on the right side, the canvas is creased, and the scanner didn't like that.

It's about 7 inches or so tall. Oh, ya, the beading did get a bit tedious, especiall since I left it for last. (arg)

I don't think that I will pillow this. I could have it finished in the shape of the kimono, and display it on a miniature stand or easle. Or, mount it in a shadow box.

i was thinking of a magnet... wow... that doesn't seem too artsy... haa haaa... my ideas are so lame... hee hee
no i think like the easels they use for kimonos... a miniature replica... don't know... you would have to make that too most likely...
